12-16-08 Close to Break!!

In SCIENCE most of you did an excellent job on your test last Friday.  :D   This week there won’t be homework, unless you don’t finish your lab conclusion on Wednesday.

For LIT STUDIES: you’ve got your project DUE THURSDAY!!!  If you don’t get it done in class tomorrow, make sure you figure out how it’s going to be ready to present by Thursday!

12-11-08 Extra Credit for Science!

First of all, don’t forget to get your study guide signed by a parent or guardian for extra credit (showing how long you studied).

Extra Credit Questions from the Test:
What is the most abundant chemical found in living things?  ANSWER: water

What are known as the building-blocks of structure and function in living things?  ANSWER: cells

List one other specialized cell and tell me what it does.  (For these answers, see the “Studying Cells” page in the left-hand column.)

12-9-08 TEST FRIDAY!!!

We’ve got a science test coming up on Friday of this week!  Study guides will go home on Wednesday.  Make sure you’re studying at home!

The test is over the 11 parts of a cell and what their functions are, AND the ten types of specialized cells we learned about and what they do.

STUDY!!!  If you forgot your study guide, don’t worry…I’ve got your back!  Click on the link in the left-hand column that says “Studying Cells.”  There you’ll find the information you need!  :wink:

12-5-08 Science Homework!!!

Due TODAY: Plant and animal cell drawings (labeled and colored) AND the venn diagram (comparing plant and animal cells).

Due MONDAY: Organelle Cartoon (needs at least 3 organelles in it, and must be in color.

We’re beginning our unit on cells today!  Get ready to act out each of the 11 different parts of the cell.  I’ve got a motion for every single one.  Your job is to remember them all…and what they mean!

In my LIT STUDIES class today, we’ve got HOMEWORK!!  We just finished reading Chapter 18.  Your job is to write a letter to Pete, Moose’s friend from back home, and tell him what’s been going on lately.  Make sure you tell him about people like Piper and Scout! :wink:
