This is a historical fiction book, but don’t let that fool you! It’s got plenty of action and suspense! The book is based in the year 1941, when the nazis were taking over Germany and trying to capture all of the Jewish people. Annemarie and her best friend Ellen live in Germany. The problem: Ellen is a Jew.
Ellen’s parents have to leave her with Annemarie’s family with the hope that they can protect her. Can they protect her? Will she be able to hide there forever? Or will she be forced to run for her life?
